It's almost here! Christmas! This year for our Christmas "card" I decided I wanted to do something a little different. I found these adorable stamped wood slices from Red Cloud Boutique on Etsy, and decided they would make a super cute Christmas card and mini-gift!
To make these Christmas-y, we partnered with another store, Blossom Stamps, to use this stamp of a reindeer, and customized it with our last name. I love how they turned out!
To make the pillow boxes, I used:
- Papertrey Ink Pillow Box Die
- Big Kick die-cutting machine
- Stampin' Up Very Vanilla Cardstock
- Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar Classic Stampin' Pad
- Stampin' Up Remembering Christmas Stamp Set
- Acrylic mounting blocks
- Red Wraphia - they have a ton of colors!
- Tape runner adhesive
To make:
- Using the Big Kick and Pillow Box die, cut out pillow boxes from half sheets of Very Vanilla paper
- Apply text stamps to acrylic blocks, and stamp pillow boxes on the section that has the little tab on the bottom
- Fold the pillow boxes on the straight lines (mountain fold on the impressions from the die)
- Using the tape runner adhesive, place a strip along the tab, and tape to the back side of the top section
- Next, carefully crease the rounded sections in. I used my nail to make them crisp and clean
- Place your trinket or gift inside, fold in the notched flaps, and then the solid flaps
- Leaving a few inches hanging loose, hold the wraphia at the middle and wrap around several times. Cut a little extra length, and tie in a bow.
- You're Done!
*Note: I was planning on sending these out via USPS. Unfortunately, they were going to be about $3 - $4 a piece to put them in little boxes so that they wouldn't get crushed. Needless to say, I'm not made of money and won't be doing this. I decided to hand out as many as possible, and there will be a very few traveling through the mail. And yes, they'll be a little late, but the sentiment says New Year on it to, so I'm good, right? I think so.
You could make these into wedding favors, party gifts, or all sorts of other things. If you make some, post in the comments!
